A fine example of infamous cartographer, William Blaeu’s work dating back to c.1638. Entitled Mechlinia Dominium Et Aerschot Ducatus, this stunning map shows an intrinsically detailed sketch of Flanders, Belgium depicting the areas of Antwerp, Brussels, Mechelen, Aarschot and their surrounding communities. The plan is beautifully decorated with the region’s coat of arms and title and a description of the country can be found in the bottom right section (in Latin!). Although highly detailed, from a far this map offers a touch of simplicity that will compliment any room  and makes it an ideal gift for any occasion.
