Old Map of Europe in 1560

A useful yet stunning reference to the European boundaries as they stood in the mid 16th century. Despite depicting Europe as it stood in 560, this is a relatively contemporary map from our collection given that it was not published until 1923 by Velhagen & Klafing forming pages 118 – 119 of Sheperds Atlas. It is a vibrant map that does not disappoint on detail, with all major towns and cities as they were at the time clearly labelled. A key and scale are also featured in the top right hand corner.
