A beautifully coloured 17th century map depicting the Baltic Sea coast from Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Gotaland, and parts of Sweden (including Stockholm) and Finland (including Helsinki). This fine example of Willem Blaeu’s artwork is decorated by a striking cartouche together with the coats of arms for Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Curland, Lithuania, Samogitia, Moscovia and Ingriae which can be seen within the relevant regions across the map. Amongst the Baltic Sea, flamboyant coloured ships can be spotted sailing through. A striking map and fine example of the work from one of the 17th century’s most accredited cartographers.
