Vintage Map of Devon by Benjamin Donn (1729–1798)

Dated 1765, this most detailed map of Devonshire, represents the county at a scale of one inch to one mile. This map was the result of a five-year survey during which Donn reportedly measured over 6,000 miles of roads and rivers. It was the first county map to receive the Royal Society of Arts’ award for the best one-inch-to-the-mile survey. ​
